  • The Difference Between Soft Washing and Pressure Washing
The Difference Between Soft Washing and Pressure Washing

Although pressure washing and power washing are similar, knowing the difference can help you choose the best option for your needs. For many properties, soft washing is also an option.

Power Washing

With the addition of pressure, power washing can make cleaning easier, as it can remove buildups such as algae, mold, and dirt. Commercial and industrial facilities usually use this type of cleaning on hard surfaces. Pressure reaches from 1300 to 1400 psi.

Pressure Washing

High-pressure equipment and water use an average temperature to wash. The water passes through a tank, which is powered by electricity or gas, and through various pressure applications. Pressure ranges from 1300 to 4000 psi.

Pressure washing works well on stone and can clean the same organic materials as power washing. There are no considerable differences between power washing and pressuring washing other than the psi pressure.

Soft Washing

The main difference between soft and power washing is how much pressure is used. The former uses low pressure to clean and rinse.

For soft washing, the right nozzle is required. This method can be used with a wider pressure washer tip to reduce the pressure. It is an eco-friendly way to remove dirt and organisms on hard surfaces. 500 psi is where soft washing tops out, so it won’t damage less dense surfaces.

Deciding Which Method to Use

Power washing: Choose this method to deep clean and sanitize driveways, stone walls, and rough concrete.

Pressure washing: This option cleans walking surfaces, decks, stone pathways, and patio furniture.

Soft washing: Select this technique for surfaces like stucco and coquina, vinyl siding, cedar shake siding, wood panel siding, outdoor wood furniture, outdoor rooted plants, screens, enclosures, and lanais.

When your property needs cleaning, choose trusted professionals to select the right equipment, techniques, and cleansers for the job.
